Vac Truck Leak Job at a Gold Coast Caravan Park
When a leak is hiding underground, the faster the leak is detected and pipework is exposed, the faster the repair can start. Recently our vac truck was on site at a Gold Coast caravan park, working side by side with leak repairers and leak detectors to solve a water supply issue for many residents.
Watch the job in action below, then read on to see how teamwork gets a tricky leak sorted quickly.
Exposing Leaking Pipework at a Caravan Park
Finding a leak is only half the battle. Once a leak detector has pinpointed where the problem is, the pipe still has to be uncovered before repairs can be started. At this caravan park job, our vac truck did the non-destructive digging so the rest of the crew could get straight on with their work.
Using hydro excavation, we break up the soil with high-pressure water and remove it with a high-flow vacuum. This exposes the pipe cleanly, without the risk of damaging it that comes with a shovel or a machine bucket. It also keeps the mess and disruption to a minimum, which matters when a site is full of guests and fixtures.
Why Teamwork Makes the Difference
A leak repair usually relies on more than one trade. Our underground leak detector locates the problem, then we expose the pipework using our vac truck, and then the repair crew steps in to fix it. When everyone is on site and working together, there is less waiting around and the job moves along much faster.
Our role is to make sure the leak repairer has clear, safe access to the pipe as quickly as possible. That means less downtime for the property and a faster path to getting the water back to normal.
